Forrest and I had been riding together for years and we had talked almost endlessly about his " next " bicycle. After a new job and his world had settled it was time.
" I want a light fast single speed mountain bike, with orange Hope hubs. " That was about all Forrest gave me, I was delighted !
A few questions later and a full fitting completed, tubes were ordered, components selected, paint colors were found, this was going to be nice. Columbus Zona tubes with a few additions and subtractions mixed in for that dialed in ride. Lots of Race Face, Hope Tech in the wheels and brakes, Cane Creek headset up front as always. Hand built wheels, tubeless Maxxis tires, and an old well loved saddle that " just fits ". Paint is a balancing act for all those orange Hope components, Honda metallic blue with an orange micro flake in the corners. I added the little bi-laminated seat tube lug to keep those long points going.
