This is 1986
I had a 1986 Nishiki International in pink and metallic grey, can you build something like that ?
This was a very complex and satisfying frame and fork to build. Using Reynolds 531 tubing ( look closely at the top tube right behind the head tube ) and Suntour Superbe fork ends and dropouts, with a generous dose of Bi-laminates on the main triangle joints. Lots of work for this build.
Then came all the collecting of the components, most are NOS-NIB Suntour Sprint. Some Superbe added in just for good measure. Nitto handlebars and stem, conchos replaced copper rivets in the saddle, vintage Ambrosio rims with tubular tires, and a straight block “ Corn Cob “ 7 speed freewheel to keep this looking correct.
This one is a modern time capsule with a fresh but vintage flair.
